PE, School Sports Funding and Curriculum

Has achieved the Bronze and Silver Sainsbury’s School Games Kitemark awards for their commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport.

At The Grove we aim for Physical education to develop pupils' physical competence and confidence, and their ability to use these to perform in a range of activities, in curriculum PE, Inter and Intra school festivals and competitions.

Dart Hockey League
Players took part in the Dart hockey league for five weeks, after many matches The Grove finished in second place, narrowly missing out on first place by just 1 point.
Totnes Learning community Football League
The new kit has finally arrived, we will not be missed!!
The team has been taking part in the league regularly and are looking forward to the last few matches against other schools in the Totnes Learning Community.
Totnes Learning Community Gymnastics Competition
Both year 3 and 4 and year 5 and 6 had two teams representing The Grove in the Totnes Learning Community Gymnastics Competition.  A ll the gymnasts were fantastic and all the year groups had one team which went on to represent the school at the School Sport Partnership Finals at Sommersaults gym club in Newton Abbot.  It was an amazing experience for the children.
Dartmoor School Sports partnership - Cross Country
There was a massive tun out at the cross country competition at Haldon Forest, with over 401 children competing from 22 schools.
The Grove runners had a fantastic result with the year 3/4 team finishing in 2nd place and the year 5/6 team finishing in 4th place.
Year 3 and 4 participated in a competion after school,playing Dartmoor three ball.  Both teams played brillaintly, finishing in 4th and 5th place.
The keen runners took part in the cross country running event at Haldon Forest against children from over twenty schools in the School Sports Partnership.
Finally, a Cyclo-cross event not cancelled due to poor weather conditions!  The cyclists competed against other children from schools in the School Sports Partnership, with brilliant individual results.
Totnes and Dartington Cricket Club
 
Members of the Totnes and Dratington club, visited the school to tell the children about the 'All Stars' programme, which will be running over the summer term.  A number of children have now joined the club.
