HOME LEARNING

REGULAR READING:
Your child should be bringing home their STAR READER book every day.  The aim is to read at home for 10 - 15 minutes every day and to record this in their yellow reading record.

MULTIPLICATION TABLES:
Multiplication tables are absolutely essential to being a fluent mathematician.
Once again, encourage your child to do regular practice learning their times tables.  All children have a Time Table Rockstars Login to support them with this.

Victorian Britain

In history this term, we will be studying Victorian Totnes.

Can you find something (e.g. a building or something else) in Totnes that was built during the Victorian Era?
See what you can find out about it...
What is it? What year was it built? What was it used for?
Create a poster or fact sheet about that Totnes building.
You can either bring it into school or upload a picture of it to Seesaw.
P.S. if you can't find something in Totnes, you're welcome to research another building somewhere else in the UK - e.g. a factory, workhouse, school etc.
CHRISTMAS WRITING COMPETITION

Dear Parents and Carers,

There is to be a new festival starting in Totnes and we, as a school, have been asked to take part in the Christmas Writing Competition which is being run for KS2 children.

The competition is inviting all Year 5 and 6 pupils to write a 500 word Christmas themed story.

The closing date for entries is currently 31st October and submissions should be brought into school as a paper copy.

Prizes have been generously donated by Eastgate Bookshop.
