Peripatetic Music Lessons at The Grove
We have independent music providers who teach during school hours and most musical instruments can be taught.
Please read the 'Missed lessons due to absence policy' and the 'Music learning agreement' documents at the bottom of this page.
FLUTE AND SINGING - STEPHANIE BULLOCK
Email: scillysteph1@gmail.com
I am a music graduate offering lessons in Singing and Flute, incorporating music theory within each lesson.
I have ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music) Grades in Flute, Clarinet, Piano and Singing and a BA Hons degree in Music performance. For the last 5 years I have been teaching privately from home and have entered students into ABRSM music exams with 100% success rate. For those wishing to enter exams when they are ready I do so via ABRSM.
As a parent myself I know the importance of letting you know how your child is progressing. I do this via a practice diary, so that it is always clear what your child is working on and how they are doing.
I am passionate about music and the benefits it can bring to children. I believe music should be accessible for all. Lessons will be productive but kept fun and friendly, with music theory alongside their instrument to give pupils a well-rounded knowledge of music.

GUITAR LESSONS - STEVE DOW
Telephone: 07947 307990
Email:stevedow@ymail.com
My approach to teaching in schools focuses on including music theory within each lesson to ensure new students understand the language of music.
I emphasise the importance of learning to read musical notation. I believe this creates a solid foundation upon which further musical development can be built.
I set out clear objectives for each lesson with a structured lesson plan and I provide weekly feedback to parents via a practice diary to identify the student's strengths and areas that require more focused development and practice.
PIANO LESSONS – JAZ GAYLE
Hello, I am Jaz, a singer/ songwriter and recording Artist who has performed in Devon over the last 10 years in Totnes. I started piano lessons at 10 years old, which started a lifelong passion for classical and jazz music. I have been teaching in Devon primary schools over the last 8 years and recently took on a choir in Ivybridge.
I love teaching piano at the Grove. My aim is to to encourage the children’s passion for music generally whilst playing and exploring the piano.
All of the children are encouraged to read music. Whilst some of the older children work towards Grade 1 and beyond, younger students have the opportunity to play by ear and progress to reading at a gentle pace. My aim this year is to create opportunities for the children to perform whenever possible.
