We have independent music providers who teach during school hours and most musical instruments can be taught.
Please read the 'Missed lessons due to absence policy' and the 'Music learning agreement' documents at the bottom of this page.
Below is a brief description of providers currently working within the school:
NICKY MATTHEWS - FLUTE, ALTO SAX, CLARINET, RECORDER, PIANO, KEYBOARD
Telephone: 07515 856495 / 01803 392558
I am a music graduate offering lessons incorporating music theory within each lesson to ensure students understand more about the language of music than simply how to play their chosen instrument. With over 25 years of experience of performance work and peripatetic teaching, in schools in Devon and Somerset as well as privately, I pride myself in the quality of music education I deliver, putting in 100% effort to ensure lessons are productive as well as making music great fun to learn. As a parent myself, I recognise the importance of letting you know how your child is progressing, which I do via a practice diary, so that it is always clear to you what your child is working on and how well they are doing. For those wishing to enter for exams, I do so via the ABRSM (or Trinity if preferred), with a 100% success rate to date and offer an accompaniment service if required. I'm always happy to give Grove students the chance to try one or more of the instruments I teach before deciding if they'd like to start lessons and offer any advice you may need on musical instruments, which books to buy etc.

VIOLIN LESSONS - JACQUI RIEDLINGER B.A.(Hons) Music Adv Cert ‘Performance and Communication Skills’
I am offering violin lessons at The Grove School, starting in the summer term 2021. I can teach children, beginners to advanced levels, and I always aim to provide a fun and enjoyable time. Alongside learning the technique to be able to play, my lessons involve learning to read music, progression and confidence building through learning new exciting pieces, and I can enter and accompany pupils for Associated Board Grade Music Exams if required.
