This term we have been immersing ourselves in the world of the Vikings and Norse mythology - you can get a flavour of what we've been up to since Christmas. The weekly spellings and home learning tasks are also here.
Come back soon!
Our World Book Day celebrations included some shared reading with the children in Acorns. It was impossible to say who enjoyed it the most and we're hoping we get an opportunity for a repeat visit soon!
The inaugural Mash Poetry Slam took place, with 3 children winning their way through to the Grand Final. Ultimately, it was Jamie's prayer that was answered, becoming the first ever winner of this coveted title with a fine poem on the theme of technology (Fortnite may have got a mention!).
We've been learning about Viking sagas and writing our own, which was all the excuse we needed for a bit of drama!
Fortunately, when the Vikings invaded Lindisfarne in 793, we had a number of trainee journalists on hand to capture the story, both in the TV studio and in the print media!
To start the topic, we learned about Viking names and runes, We used charcoal to write our names.
Did you know that Viking children were named after their father? If their dad was called Olaf, the son would be known as Olafsson and the daughter would be called Olafsdottir!
