Year 5 and 6 Mountain Ash Class Summer Term

Welcome back for the Summer Term - and so much to look forward to - including more Forest School for Year 6, and the end of year production, as we learn all about our local area with our topic - 'Moor to Sea.'
Visit this page to catch up with all that we're up to, plus homework, spellings and other useful information.
As part of out Moor to Sea topic, the children researched the journey of the rivers from Dartmoor to the coast, creating some fab river profiles showing how the river loses height on its way...
Back to the Forest! Year 6 returned to the woods for another week of making, becoming reacquainted with some of the tools and techniques that they learned before Christmas, and being introduced to many more. The pole lathe proved a hit!
Our intrepid Year 5 Elizabethan dancers showed they knew the moves in the market place...!
Some Dartmoor legends came to life on the garden terrace - Cutty Dyer, the Legend of Vixen Tor and Grey Weathers Stones to name but 3!
Yes, technically it was last term, but it was the very last two days, and Year 5 did have a GREAT time on residential at Adventure Okehampton!
