Year 3 and 4 Flame Tree Class Spring Term

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
This term out topic is all about Exploration, particularly the amazing adventure that was The Endurance Expedition and about Ernest Shackleton himself!!
We have looked really closely at the art work of David McEown and created our own art inspired by The Antarctic.  What do you think?
We had a very special guest come and visit The Grove - ERNEST SHACKLETON no less!!
Rubi's Grandad came to talk to us about his work in The Antarctic.  Fascinating.  Thank you.
GYMNASTICS FESTIVAL
We all went along to KEVICC to take part in a gymnastics festival.  It was great fun.
Ken Armstrong's WHIZZY SCIENCE assembly.
SCIENCE DAY
TEETH, ANIMAL FOOD CHAINS AND DIGESTION
We had a great day.  We became experts on Food Chains.  We discovered information all about our different teeth.  Digestion is a great topic and we played games, experimented for ourselves and created animations all about the process of digestion.  We didn't even giggle at the mention of poo!!
SHACKLETON'S DIARIY
We wrote Diary entries from the point of view of Ernest Shackleton or another member of his Endurance Expedition.
MY TIME IN ANTARCTICA
Mr Maggs was a doctor on a scientific research expedition to Antarctica.  He spent a year in Antarctica and came to talk to us about his experiences.  We asked him lots of questions and also got to dress up on some of his kit!  Inspirational!
