Year 1 and 2 Lime Tree Class Summer Term

We had lots of fun on 'Pirates Against Plastic' day! We went to Leechwell Gardens to find the sea creatures who had got tangled up in plastic to help rescue them. We found out just how damaging single use plastic is to our sea creatures and oceans and how we can help.
Back at the classroom we made medallions with a message about reusing and recycling plastic.
In Maths we have been learning about capacity using non standard units of measure such as cubes.
In science we have been learning about what plants need to germinate and have started to grow beans and cress heads. We can't wait to see our cress heads with green hair!
We had a fabulous time on our school trip to Fermoys and the Bird of Prey Centre. It was such fun to hold the owls !
Our school allotment area is looking fantastic and our courgettes will be ready to eat soon!
We had fun learning about what to do if someone is choking and how to put someone in the recovery position.
