This term our topic is Super heroes and we have begun by creating some fantastic 3-d tower blocks for our Super hero small world role play!
We have enjoyed creating our own pizzas and writing the recipes and instructions for making them.
If you would like to make one at home - and I know that some people have already - then they are very simple as they only require two ingredients for the base - equal quantities of self raising flour and greek yogurt! Then add the toppings of your choice and cook for 12-15 minutes at 200*C.
In science this term we have been exploring forces and the uses of everyday materials. The children were set the challenge of working collaboratively to construct a bridge from a range of everyday materials. The children identified wood, card and plastic as being suitable materials. They worked in groups to construct bridges from each of these materials. Each bridge had to be stable and strong enough to support model cars.
As part of our maths learning this term we have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes. The children were challenged to find as many shapes as they could in our outdoor learning areas and then to collect sticks to create their own 2D shapes. We discovered that it is extremely difficult to try and make a circle using sticks!
