Ms Caldwell meets elected School Council members each week at lunchtime for half an hour. The members are voted in each term.
We have done lots of things this year (Sept 2015-July 2016), here are a few of them.....
- we set up a buddy bench at the KEVICCs site after children told us that they sometimes need help with friendships at lunchtimes and playtimes
- children in Key Stage 1 would like to have a buddy bench in the playground back at the new school
- in the Auturm term on a few rainy and overcast days we raised a whopping £1,000 for Parkinsons UK by doing a sponsored cycle/scoot. This was our biggest ever fundraiser! Huge thanks to KEVICCs for letting us use their space, to all the parents, carers and friends who were incredibly generous, to the staff for helping organise and set up the event and of course to all the children who were as enthusiastic as ever.
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN
- as part of the School Improvement Plan, or SIP for short, school council members asked lots of children questionnaires about their experiences in Maths. We found out that children really enjoy using computers and ipads to help with their learning. Also that they sometimes find it tricky to know how to get help if they are stuck. Children in Key Stage 1 know what their Yellow for Yippees are and their Pink for Thinks.
